With changes to Virginia’s concealed carry reciprocity rules approaching, now is a great time to explore how a Utah Non-Resident Concealed Firearm Permit could expand your concealed carry options when traveling. Our dual course helps you prepare for both permit applications while building your understanding of safe, responsible concealed carry.
Tuition for the class itself is $89. If you would like us to handle your fingerprinting, Utah application completion, and send-off of your completed application packet, this optional service is available for an additional $15 fee. Government permit application fees are separate.
Our Dual Virginia Concealed Carry / Utah Non-Resident Concealed Carry course provides a convenient training path for adults interested in applying for both permits. Whether you are new to firearms or want a clearer understanding of responsible concealed carry, this beginner-friendly course helps you approach the process with greater confidence.
Through separate Virginia and Utah instructional portions, students will learn firearm safety, safe handling and storage, concealed carry responsibilities, state-specific laws, prohibited locations, transportation considerations, and the legal principles surrounding self-defense and the use of force.
Students who successfully complete the applicable training will receive documentation for their Virginia Concealed Handgun Permit application and the instructor certification required for their Utah Non-Resident Concealed Firearm Permit application.
Virginia residents applying for their first permit must receive their physical Virginia Concealed Handgun Permit before their Utah application can be submitted. Students choosing the optional application service will have their completed Utah packet sent off once all required documents are available.
Holding both permits may expand your concealed carry options when traveling, depending on current state recognition rules. Recognition varies by state and permit-holder residency. Always verify the laws of your destination before carrying.
Completing the class does not issue either permit or authorize concealed carry. Each issuing authority independently reviews applications and determines eligibility.
Our focus is a strong foundation: understanding your responsibilities, asking good questions, and learning in a supportive environment.
Students should bring:
Please do not bring a loaded firearm into the classroom unless specifically authorized by the instructor under the course’s safety procedures.
No previous firearms training or shooting experience is required.
This course is intended for adults 21 and older pursuing Virginia and standard Utah concealed carry permits. Applicants must meet each state’s eligibility requirements.
You do not need an existing Virginia permit to complete this combined training. However, Virginia residents must receive their physical Virginia Concealed Handgun Permit before submitting their Utah application.
Utah BCI must receive your application within one year of completing the Utah training. First-time applicants should plan their Virginia application accordingly.
Confirm your date, location, and preparation instructions with the training team before attending.
