Whether you are brand new to firearms or have owned a handgun for years, our Virginia Concealed Carry Class is designed to give you a clear, practical understanding of firearm safety, responsible concealed carry, and the laws that every Virginia gun owner should know.
This is a beginner-friendly course with no previous firearms training required**.
Students will receive guided instruction covering firearm safety, responsible handgun ownership, concealed carry considerations, Virginia firearm laws, prohibited locations, interacting with law enforcement, safe storage, transportation, and important legal considerations surrounding the possession and use of a firearm for personal protection.
Our goal is not simply to help you complete a class. We want you to leave with a better understanding of the responsibilities that come with carrying a firearm and the knowledge needed to continue developing as a safe, responsible and confident gun owner.
Students who successfully complete the course will receive a Certificate of Completion documenting their in-person firearms training. This certificate may be used as proof of handgun competency when applying for a Virginia Concealed Handgun Permit, subject to Virginia law, individual eligibility and the requirements of the appropriate Circuit Court.
What You'll Learn

Please bring: -A valid government-issued photo ID -Something to take notes with, if desired -Any questions you have about concealed carry, firearms ownership or Virginia firearm laws -An open mind and willingness to learn Please do not bring a loaded firearm into the classroom or training area unless specifically authorized by the instructor and permitted under the course's safety procedures.
No previous firearms experience is required. This course is appropriate for: First-time firearm owners Beginners who have never taken a firearms class Experienced firearm owners who want a better understanding of Virginia concealed carry Individuals preparing to apply for a Virginia Concealed Handgun Permit Gun owners who want a refresher on safety, laws and responsible carry You do not need to already have a concealed handgun permit to attend
